COURSE OVERVIEW

The BLS Instructor Course provides a foundation for teaching a facilitating Healthcare Providers to become Instructors. This course provides consistent and uniform Instructor training with the goal of creating more effective.

Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Instructors. A BLS Instructor has an ability to teach any American Heart Association BLS Provider Course and BLS Provider Renewal Course as well as the Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid Courses for Non-Medical people.

Course Details

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

  • Reveal proficiency in current BLS skills and concepts
  • Demonstrate proper function and use of BLS teaching equipment
  • Teach a BLS course using the video instruction and lesson maps
  • Demonstrate ability allow students to practice BLS while watching the video
  • Demonstrate ability to evaluate students fairly and provide appropriate remediation if needed
  • Understand and perform defibrillation and transcutaneous pacing
  • Use testing materials to conduct skills testing

Requirements for Instructor Candidates

For successful completion of the instructor course, instructor candidates’ must

  1. Have current AHA provider status in the BLS discipline and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline 
  2. Have Instructor Potential Letter from Training Center where BLS Course was performed (If already done)
  3. Successfully complete the AHA BLS Instructor Essentials online module (www.onlineaha.org) for which you will have to pay to AHA, online with credit card and print the completion certificate.
  4. Have successfully completed the AHA BLS one-day classroom Instructor Course at IHSTC. The candidates will be given a workbook which is designed to help the Instructor Candidate to lea and remember the most important information from the Instructor Course. There will be an instructor course exam at the end of the day. 
  5. Have successfully been monitored teaching 2-4 Courses within 6 months of completing the AHA BLS Classroom Instructor Course (can require additional monitoring if needed)

  • International Certification from the American Heart Association in BLS Instructor Course for Healthcare Providers - Wallet Card (Certificate validity is for 2 years)
  • International Health & Safety Training Center Attendance Wall Display Certificate providing 3.5 CME by Dubai Health Authority (Certificate applicable to claim CME/CPD "Equivalent" for DHCC, MOH, HAAD
  • Course approved by Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services (DCAS)
  • Course approved by Dubai Healthcare City under IHSTC - Academic Permit  
  • Certificates are issued on the same day of training to all persons completing the course
  • Certified & licensed Clinical Instructors by DCAS teaching the course.
